Early Tintin was produced by a far right fascist journal, that’s why the early tintin used to be racist & pro-colonialism. Funnily enough, after the Nazi invasion of Belgium, the Nazis ordered the closing down of said journal, which forced / allowed the author to move to a different production, and make non-political comics (the political nature of the early comics were directions given by the fascist) journal

Well, herge did write comics during the belgian occupation, and he unfortunately did not refrain from making despicable depictions of jewish people

The Franco-Belgian comics scene has turned out so many timeless classics.

Belgium really has some awesome comics! I always thought a bunch of them were Dutch, as they were written in Flanders.
