Be careful with pouring oil down your pipes, it might lead to either getting your oil pipes invaded by the US military on the basis of “potential weapons of mass destruction”, or the CIA to overthrow its democratically elected leader to be replaced with a fascist dictator willing to sell the oil to the US.

That kitchen is a shitshow. Also: not down the drain! This is how you get “fatbergs” that will cause sewage to back up into your house. T-shirt should say “save the pipes!”

Like [email protected] said, into bottles and recycle if you can. I’ve also had good results with:

        • paper towels - this can take a lot, so reserve those mostly clean ones in a bag/bucket for later use
        • sawdust in a small bucket that I keep in the garage - dump it into a trash bag and throw out once saturated
        • Japanese cooking oil solidifier - this stuff is incredible and turns oil into a paste that is easier to throw out

Contact your city or locality, many will take oil at a recycling center and send it on its way. Anything you can’t funnel into a container for recycling, scrape into the trash.

Dont do this. This is how your sewer bill quadruples.

Instead, ask your local authority if they recycle Waste Cooking Oils and Fats. They can be used to make soaps, cosmetics, and biofuels.

Just scoop it out into the trash. Might be compostable?

Some people actually put it into the fridge and use it to cook later, depending on the source like bacon fat or something.

I freeze them, bacon grease for example is great with brussels sprouts. Just cook with it in a skillet or similar like it’s butter. They absorb some of the oil and become extra tasty

Depends on what we’re frying. If it’s breaded chicken, too little oil will result in uneven browning. Little to no oil on many veggies will cause parts to be burned whilst the rest is still raw.

I beg to disagree, at least the breadcrumbed chicken! I do not use excessive heat though, and turning gently every minute or two or so Guess it all depends on your type of cooking, veggies goes in water for me for example.

Well, those are boiled veggies, sure. I’m not using oil when steaming either, so that not very relevant. That said, I’m pretty sure you do get better results with oil (surface layer, not a pool) when baking veggies.
But this is science and I’m definitely no expert!

Also yeah don’t pour oil down the drain it can cause clogs and it can ruin your pipes, especially if it’s hot.
