The better question is whether the antivax parents are OK with it, since its their dumb decision not to vaccinate the kids, not the kids themselves.

I’m far more alarmed that people with zero medical or scientific background think they can just wade into debates about vaccinations that they have zero knowledge about… a Facebook post and a quick web search doesn’t equate to a phd and thirty years experience in a specialist field.

I have no idea why your comment would get removed. You’re entitled to your own opinion and to ask questions… and yes, it was fairly tame. I wouldn’t immediately classify you as an anti-vax lunatic on the strength of what you wrote.

Unfortunately you aren’t. Because antivax is the reason for the measles outbreaks that have occurred among other things. Go look up the iron lung and tell me how vaccines dont work and how you are alarmed antivax people are considered harmful.
Most vaccines are developed by university researchers and research institute researchers, not big pharma.
Gosh. Normal people get an education and learn how these things work. And now you don’t have to trust the government or anybody for that matter because it makes sense and it works.
You don’t have to be a car specialist to know that is you put gasoline in it, it goes if you need it.
The amount of people who suddenly became experts during the pandemic and lecturing me with a bunch of contradictory stuff. Everyone saying something different, but everyone sure that they’re right and everyone else is idiots.
Calling me a sheep for believing the vaccine will work when I don’t understand it. I tell them I don’t understand how any of my other medicines work but they’re saving my life regular. I don’t understand how audio digitalisation works but I’m happy enough talking on the phone.
These kids have a bad enough lot in life by being born to and probably being negatively influenced by irresponsible parents. They probably deserve more care and individual attention than a throwaway question like this.

You say that as if they personally know at least one anti vaxxed kid and told them “Fuck you, I can’t give you any attention today because I’m too busy writing a joke on Lemmy!”
I mean, I feel for the kids too, but do you expect us to start hunting for their identities, kidnapping them and giving them shots?
As a general vibe in life, I try not to punch down. Antivax kids through no fault of their own are at a disadvantage in life (and make life for immunocompromised folks harder). Wondering if they’d be okay with a cootie shot as a question seems snarky and punching down to me.
You could not answer this question categorically anyway. It would depend on the age, how much autonomy they already have over their body, and to how much RFK junioring they’ve been subjected. So the answer is care and individual attention for each kid, not a generalization.
I don’t know where you get the idea I suggested we hunt them down from. But I think you’ve correctly picked up on my critical opinion on this question.
