There’s certain things that are seen as classically female. Shopping, kids, crafting, gossip etc are all seen as women’s stuff, but we dont all like them. What classically female things do you like?

A lot of times I’m not sure what’s definitively feminine or masculine because the social norms tend to shift. This is stuff that feels feminine to me though:

I love the gothic side of femininity. Pentacles and black dresses and dark makeup and horror movies. One of my best friends is pagan, and I’m in her coven for moral support and the much cooler Pagan holidays (Yule > Christmas). I’m actually not embarrassed to say I was big into the Twilight craze in high school and I still love bands like Evanescence and Lacuna Coil to this day.

I think we’re at the point where fantasy novels are female-coded. I too get the feminine urge to slay the Witch-King.

Is hiking and camping a femme thing? I’m a nature girl 🍁

Aside from that, sewing, gardening, manicures, aromatherapy, Aggretsuko, fall, pumpkin spice lattes, and rom-coms if they’re written well. (My fave is “The Holiday.”)

I work long hours as a welder, most of my work clothes are baggy mens clothes from a thrift store. My hair is typically up in a bun and tucked under a cap. I get misgendered a lot when in my work clothes which is fair, I totally get it.

But when I’m waiting on cooldown, on a break, or at lunch, I like to read a book, draw in a sketch pad, or write in a notebook. The guys are always on their phones watching Tiktok or playing some game.

It may be a little thing, but I enjoy reading, writing, and drawing which I consider to be a “typically female thing.”

Pink and / or flowery clothes … though usually in hoodie or t-shirt form, because as a famous comedian once said “if I put on a dress people don’t say ‘oh how pretty’ but rather ‘why is that dyke in a dress?’”

To a point I really don’t like gendered “hobbies”.

I’m really tired of society telling me what it feminine and what it not. “Kids” is femine? I’ve met more men desperate for kids than I have women. I’m the most “dad” mom I know. My husband tells me I even smoke weed like an old dad rolling my Js.

I don’t wear makeup or nail polish, I’ve never like the color pink or purple, gossip is only fun with my friend who is divorcing her republican husband. Shopping is hell on earth.

I do like cooking, and gardening, but those things should not be gendered. I like mens sandles because they are more comfortable than women’s for me. I like getting my hands dirty in the dirt. I like being tough and strong.

Im in a bad mood, I’ll step away from this conversation that obviously isnt meant for me

Today, nothing feels like it’s meant for me. I want to go camping. I want to drink a sour by a bonfire. Sour beer. There, I think that’s feminine. I hate IPAs but I loved sours. I had to give up drinking because of my husbands issue with it. Which is fine, but damn i could go for a sour and a bonfire.

To NOT be a mom and housewife and for five fucking seconds. Let me on a quad. :(

I feel this on a profound level. I never feel more feminine than when I’m in nature, mostly since it’s nice to just escape and not have to worry about things like societal expectations.

My campfire drink of choice is a milk stout, preferably if it’s chocolate-y or maple-infused.

I love, love, LOVE chocolate. Cakes, biscuits, anything like that I fucking love and could eat all day. I have to be really careful with them at home because I can go into a feeding frenzy.

I know I shouldn’t, but I love gossip. It’s delicious. I have to make a conscious effort to stay away from it because I know it’s harmful to others. Plus I hate people gossiping about me!

I love shabby chic stuff, you walk in my house and you can tell right away it’s a woman’s house! Pinks, floral, animal cushions etc… it’s stereotypically female.

Overall I’d say I’m pretty girly.

Slim fit clothes. Other than that, nothing comes to mind. Idk if reading a lot of books counts…

EDIT: Oh, wait, I love my pink shower gel and my unicorn coffee / tea mugs.

Girly scents (vanilla, sweet, flowery). Can’t live without my perfumes. If only there were men’s deodorant with pretty scents I would be set.

tbh, most of it: gardening, makeup, cooking, baking, manicures, pedicures, rosé, mimosas & brunch, chocolate, cute outfits & fashion, arts & crafts, sewing, knitting, skincare, healthy eating, flowers … honestly I wonder if there is something classically female-coded that I don’t like 🤔

Probably I don’t love sororities, cheerleading, or dance …

Crafting, crochet, knitting, sewing, drawing etc I like to do it for myself and my loved ones. I like to cook and I live for gossip.

Shopping, gossip/bitching, candles and other nice smelly things like diffusers, sewing, makeup/nails/cosmetics, accessories (including crafting them) and quite a few more things I can’t think of right now but its a shame how so much of it is seen as stereotypically regressive or people judge for it…

I like reading when I remember that I have books on my phone. Other than that cooking is fun for me. I enjoy making and trying new foods. Hello fresh was a fun service when I could afford it.
