Looks like another community moderated by a missing person that might disappear when lemm.ee shuts down.

Anyone thinking of / inclined to migrate it to another instance?

    I guess they just got busy with life… Well most of my posts would also fit on [email protected] or [email protected] and everything else would be OK on [email protected] so it’s not a big deal to me. If we don’t hear from @[email protected] , maybe we can just say that in a post this weekend.

    e: hey @[email protected] and @[email protected], y’all posted here in the last 6 months, any opinions about just directing people from [email protected] to existing communities?

      One thought I had was starting an action movies community on Piefed, that could include martial arts movies.

      But I’m still not sure how to even link to things in the fediverse, let alone mod a community.

      (The other thought was not to start a specific community but use tags/hashtags, so that a post about a movie that could appeal to different interests could have just one post and unified responses, instead of having to be cross-posted to e.g. !B Movie Bonanza, !Martial Arts Movies, !Bad Movies etc. {with responses split across communities}
      But I think that’s basically getting away from the threadiverse model into the “tootiverse”/Mastodon model. I’m still a bit unclear on how all this stuff works.)

        You may be overthinking this, lol. You just click click click. Nothing to it. Like Sergio said, options to create anything are controlled by the instance you sign into. Piefed.social makes it dead easy.

        If you all want I can host this community on piefed, next to @fullmovies, or you can @klu9!piefed.social. Rimu (Piefed admin) might be able to migrate the posts yet before lemm.ee shuts down.

        Yeah, I think what makes Lemmy/mbin unique is it’s “groups”. Some groups use tags in that way but it’s not mandated by the software. And some people don’t subscribe to groups, they just browse Active / All, or New / Last 6 Hours, I think.

        Anyway this community was never that big, I shoulda just posted to !bmoviebonanza and !fullmoviesonyoutube, so maybe it’s good if this community isn’t reborn.

        I’ve never started a community before although when I use the web version, and I click new, it does say “post or community”. I’m not sure yet which server that’s referring to.

        I’m sure @[email protected] would know but he hasn’t been seen for two months now.

        I bet @[email protected] or @[email protected] or @[email protected] could help.

        Yes, he has three accounts and I don’t know which is his main one. He organised the move of movies on lemm.ee to piefed.

          I’m pretty sure that’s whatever instance you’re logged in to. feddit.uk, in your case. I’ve never done it, but just creating a community’s pretty easy – the hard part is finding mods, advertising it, encouraging regular posting and comments, etc. If you ever decide to create a community, check out the weekly thread “how are you doing with your communities?” on [email protected] for tips and encouragement.
