A national Emerson College Polling survey found that only 45% of voters approve of the job Trump is doing as president, while 46% disapprove. Another 9% are neutral or unsure. That marks a steady slide for Trump, who had a 49% approval rating in January and was tied at 45% approval and disapproval just two months ago.

The poll also found that 53% of voters say the country is on the wrong track, while only 48% believe it’s headed in the right direction — a red flag for Trump and the Republican Party heading into next year’s midterms.

I agree on this, even though it’s an unpopular opinion democracy requires everyone to participate in one way or another. But maybe we should be careful with recruiting them into a meaningful position they aren’t all naive innocent voters who just liked what Trump had promised them.

because you shouldn’t compromise with people who want you dead.

I want free healthcare, they want to deport all non whites.

lets compromise with a 30 dollar cap in some public domain medications that cost 3 dollars to produce, and deport half a million brown people.

            genius

those people just turned half a million civilians into targets to be disappeared.

they should never be compromised with.

            those people

I’m not saying nobody is evil, but if we treat the ones that aren’t as if they our enemies, we will end up fighting a much bigger and much stronger enemy. Better would be to focus on the few that control them. I don’t know if that’s 10,000 or 10,000,000 but it certainly isn’t 48% of Americans.

they just remove civil rights of 500,000 civilians. people are dying and being disappeared from the actions of that 48%

we need to build a better world without their consent or approval. they cant be part of the solution, and asking to work with them if like saying a surviving jew that he has yo compromise with nazis because it’s 1950s and the war is over.

They’re still gonna vote and we can use the pawns to vote for us rather than ignore them. The isle is for the senators.

I’d argue the majority of his supporters don’t love dictatorships, they’re just too ignorant, and just plain stupid, to recognize one when they see it.

You’ve got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know… morons.

            BS

trump was openly saying he is a dictator. once they’re that stupid to ignore that because he also promised to hurt the minorities they hate, then there’s no difference between stupid and evil.

I think you vastly overestimate the political literacy of the average American. Most of them don’t know any of that, their decisions are based purely on vibes and curated sound bites. Some of them certainly are evil, but I recommend a vigilant application of Hanlon’s Razor when analyzing the general population.

There’s a lot of them, they’re gullible and we need their votes. We can use them as our pawn to gain votes. Gotta learn how to use the enemy. Right away Straight to anger and hate without seeing the opportunity to sway the pawns.

if someone stupidity leads to damages, they are liable for those damages.

same here, people are suffering, and disappeared. there are real damages being done to innocent people.

that 48% are responsible. their stupidity isn’t a defense, its their confession.

                Fuck em.

they are scum, and deserve the exact sympathy they showed when they supported this.

It’s not really 48% tho. Only 30% voted for him. These types of polls are essentially worthless because the sample is voluntary and in all likelihood skewed because only those hardcore people will even do polls. My generation doesn’t even answer a phone call unless we know who it is or are expecting one.

      I’ll join them.

I didn’t vote for trump, and I’m not part of them. I’ve just never been happy on any level, and do not see any path to happyness ever in my life. Why go on for another 60+ years?

Don’t jump into a volcano. If you see your life as a waste, do some good. Feed the homeless, even if it’s a crime in your area. If you don’t care, ya might as well help someone on your way out right?

What? It felt good to help someone, or care for them? Well shit, might as well do it again. If you insist on going out, at least do some good before you go. You may just find that feeling fulfilling enough to keep going, even if you don’t care about yourself. Caring for others is a great way to find purpose.

Assuming youre young and from the US, your country was long broken before it got this bad and you might not know how a society that supports people looks like. So it might not be strange you can’t see a way out, but there very likely is an actual path to a happy life. Your fate and that of your country are not glued together. There might be a wonderful life waiting for you behind these dark clouds, and the struggle you’re going through now might also mean you’ll actually enjoy it once you get there. Just take it one day at a time, and try not to lose sight of your personal horizon by staring at the bigger picture. It wont be like this the entire 60+ years ahead.
