What could be real uses of AI (llm, or generative) for anarchist organizations ?

Is there any ?

So far I didn’t come for any AI use except for some fun with creating images, or text. It just gives junk data most of the time.

But are there some real life uses that showed beneficial ?

Just some things off the top of my head

Someone posted here recently on using tools to anonymize faces in the protest without being obvious about it, by face-swapping them. GenAI can do this easily.

For orgs with little resources, GenAI could help making more eye-catching flyers and posters but it needs to be counter-balanced by the risk of being labeled as “AI slop”.

LLM tools can be used to detect and counter spam and shock campaigns in our social media.

So, i’ve seen this proposed, and i don’t see why blurring or blacking wouldn’t work. Safer, too.

Plus, I’ve told lies that idiots misread and followed back to truth before. The machine has to have the faces fed in, which means you’re creating a duplicate record, and the extent to which the users of this technology never seem to understand it makes me… I don’t trust them to not accidentally use the cloud, much less successfully maintain an air gapped machine.

Again; this is frivolous bullshit, black bars exist, so the people using it would be enthusiasts, and every single person I’ve ever met who id trust with that kind of risk for those kind of stakes would laugh you out of the room for suggesting it.

The person who wanted to do this, wanted to make a poster that doesn’t look scary to outsiders, by having blurred or blackened faces.

            And chill with the condescension

Way I understand it, They didn’t want to give flyers to outsiders for “come to our march /org /whatever” and be all blurred/black faces

This is silly. Anarchist organizations are not different to any other organizations with respect to any data processing algorithms. AI is no different from other data processing algorithms with respect to any organizations save those selling AI.

I feel like an org using genAI would probably alienate pretty much every anarchist on the planet who isn’t a dbzer0 user tbh.

Face recognition might be usable to spot agent provocateurs at protests but can be a double edged sword.

LLMs seem pretty useless to me and generative content AI seems to have very little utility as others here already said.
