I want to hear the story behind your usernames…

I’m sure some of you have silly names and some have deeply personal and interesting names. I want to hear them all. :)

As life keeps moving on I found that no matter how much I think I know, that is a near intimate number things that I have no clue about. So mt screen name is a constant reminder to remain engaged and humble in my vast ignorance.

It is a variation on a creature from folklore in my area. It might give some people an idea of where I am and some of the things that I am interested in, but is still fairly vague.

Well, there’s an example of it being vague enough that people can still get the county wrong.

And, when it comes down to it, even if it were the county generally associated with those, the whole webbed feet thing originates with the other half of that county than the one that has any connection with this folklore.

The British were sent some M1 Garand rifles for testing to see if it was something they were interested in acquiring to replace or supplement their Enfield rifles. In their official reports they occasionally refer to the M1 as the “YSL” or “Yankee Self Loader” and that seemed like the perfect fit

I found a mustard yellow Century 21 blazer at a thrift shop and wore it as a Halloween costume around the time Anchorman came out and made up a name that sounded like Ron Burgundy.

Nothing special or personal, back in early 00’s I was really into Heroes of Might and Magic 4. I liked the appearance of genie and efreet (looked basically the same). So when the time came to choose a nick name, the choice was clear since ‘genie’ is too generic.

The pic is also efreet from Heroes 4

    Thank you, great question

Two nicknames I got during high school.

If you want to know the details drop me a message and I’ll reply, not posting publicly as I don’t want to doxx myself with the required details of the story.

I made the account to start a community on animal communication and so I wanted something interesting related to species. Haggunenons is a species from Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy that evolves very rapidly.
