As more Americans contemplate their employment prospects during a time when it’s becoming increasingly difficult to retire, experts stated Wednesday that it’s not too late to change careers at 50, despite the fact that they sure as fuck wouldn’t. “If you’re finding your work increasingly unfulfilling and always dreamed of doing something else, there’s nothing wrong with making that career switch, even if you’re over 50, although that personally sounds like an absolutely stupid-ass idea to us,” said Stony Brook University economist Clare Ewell, adding that there are a few notable examples of people who pivoted career paths late in life, but statistically your chances of succeeding are abysmal, which would definitely prevent her and all other employment experts from even considering something so goddamn shortsighted. I’m confused, which instances want self censorship?

I’ve never come across a server that is anal about profanity.

You should stop catering to folks who can’t handle basic words like adults. Stop helping with this crap, it’s not good for us at all.

it’s not good for us at all.

I personally think it’s good to be considerate of others when it has essentially no negative effects, but you’re welcome to do whatever the fuck you want

Seems to me that the free exchange of ideas is slowly being taken from us, and posters like this one contribute to that phenomena in my view, and for no better reason than just to get more Internet points.

But I recognize that I’m often in the minority with what I think, and I’m sure this is just yet one more example. All good.

          Edit: clarity

My mom did kind of a lateral career change in her 60s and loved it. For nearly 4 decades she taught special ed and the blind, but started teaching freshman algebra and never looked back.

The only reason she stopped was because she was in her 70s when COVID hit and her principal didn’t let her enforce a mask policy.
