Yeah. You have North Korea, which has been contributing munitions and now troops to fighting in Ukraine compared to South Korea which hasn’t. So I wouldn’t be surprised if North Korea is concerned that South Korea could launch a surprise attack while North Korea’s defenses are weakened. Not that South Korea would attack, just that North Korea is worried about it.
I worded the sentence such that it was only discussing which countries were being a belligerent in the Russian Invasion of Ukraine. I didn’t want to imply that South Korea would help invade Ukraine.
Agree to nothing burger but I never thought their threat was to invade, but instead to lob as much boom into populated areas as possible before they are dissected by surgical strikes
Which makes the destruction of roads all the more amusing: I don’t think it accomplished anything. Nobody wants to invade The Hermit Kingdom. Ever. Doing so would be a net loss. Korea can just get the job done by remote like it’s a game of Starcraft.
It’s even a bigger nothingburger, since North Korea is happily destroying all the infrastructure that they would need to invade South Korea.
