If it weren’t for the ableist framing, Redditor being in the illegitimate category is a take I would agree with.

The Coke vs. Pepsi part by itself could easily have been reposted with the title “Ah yes, the two genders” as an ironic trans meme though

Transgenderness isn’t a sexuality as far as I know, and the same applies to intersex. I have no idea what “genderqueer” is, so I won’t comment on whether it’s a gender or sexuality.

You can use the LGBTQIA+ Wiki if you’re curious about a term, for instance: https://lgbtqia.wiki/wiki/Genderqueer

Yes, I said most for a reason: gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, and asexual (5 out of 8, a majority) are sexualities.

The other three are definitely not: Intersex refers to physical sex traits, and the other two (transgender and genderqueer) do actually relate to gender identity in some way.

One could argue that being gay in the West specifically is curiously associated with a particular identity, which includes music tastes and style of clothing, manner of speaking… Gay people in Brazil has very similar tastes as gay people in US, like adoring “pop divas” like Beyoncé, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, etc.

But I’m not arguing that, I just noticed that it resembles a gender identity on itself, even if in principle is just a sexual orientation.

One shouldn’t though, apparently. I was called homophobic for pointing it out.
