Microsoft is sticking to its strict hardware requirements.

In this global consumer society? More likely consumers and enterprises just toss their perfectly good but incompatible devices in a landfill and buy new minimum spec devices, because buy buy buy is all that matters. Repeat in a year or two when Windows 12 comes out and ups the hardware requirement again.

It’s funny that Microsoft and similar companies will talk about how they’re environmentally conscious and then pull shit like this lol

After 2 months with arch on my gaming desktop and a month of truenas scale on the nas tower, I’m probably not going back to Windows. Though I’m not too keen on truenas, may switch to hexos after it adds more features.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Apple end up running a switch to Mac mini campaign.

Linux Mint or LMDE for the win.

Even without having an axe to grind with Microsoft, switching to Linux will extend the life of your existing PC, saving you money.

I’ve got an elderly PC, and LMDE runs marvelously on it.

Above and beyond the ease of use, I think that people migrating from Windows 10 will be pleasantly surprised at how non-invasive and non-demanding Linux is with respect to personal information, product registration and such.

I’m not nearly as rabid anti-Windows/pro-Linux as this crowd, but 3-seconds after an old laptop says, “No Windows.”, I’m checking my Linux ISO collection. Done it before, will again.
