That’s what I meant too. It’s true that you will see a lot of praise for China and very little criticism. The balance is not really objective. But that is the outcome of two factors. First is that the climate here is shaped directly by what the mainstream media is like. Even in 2025 mainstream stenographers have a racist and warmongering outlook towards China which is 99% untethered from reality. There is no point really in trying to meet these ghouls in the middle. China has made tremendous achievements. They have gone from being a playground for all flavours of colonialsts to one of the most advanced countries in the world but they don’t care about that. The second is that we can’t criticise China earnestly because we don’t live in China neither do we speak or read Chinese. I have lived in an anglo country for a little while and have learnt that most people don’t have the mental framework, let alone the requisite information, to understand and critique a foreign culture.

It would be nice if China were vehemently anti-Israel and somehow were able to use their uniquely powerful position outside the West to prevent the genocide in Palestine but I am not gonna waste time being mad at China while the western world unanimously arms Israel and jails and disappears their own people who voice their opposition to it. I don’t want to have to say good things about China. I would rather just go about my day. But for that I would like my own country to not be a tool for western encirclement of a peaceful country like China while having a hunger index worse than DPRK’s.
