Their answer would be “change nothing really until we’re retired” and “you can make the rules when it’s your turn”. That’s mostly what it boils down to for many of them. The “I’m the one currently benefiting from the status quo so why would I rock the boat” types specifically.
I really don’t expect big changes for another decade because then the demographics will change more for who is in office for the House and Senate. Even then though I’m not optimistic that things will really change for the better until another 10 years after that from looking at how Gen X voted most recently, which was more conservative than the boomers.

It’s backwards regressivism and self-centered governance. It’s really not even about him to an extent, he’s just the most exaggerated parts of it front and center.
They won’t openly say anything that costs them their cushy desk job in the Senate or House, but even Pelosi expresses this sentiment of “wait till we’re done and then you progressives will get your chance”. It’s a totally self-serving mindset and ignores the real problems people are facing that could be addressed by them taking action.
I think some politicians are learning and are trying to change, but the ones twiddling their thumbs or are enabling issues should definitely be primaried though.

This. Whenever you have a question about why some organization does something it’s generally a safe bet to start with ‘because money.’ In this case, holding onto the verified fundraising power of incumbents and not offending rich donors.
So, in light of this, and things like Citizens United, what are we supposed to do about all this? We can’t compete with those big dollars at scale.

Hogg celebrated the defeat of Mary Peltola in Alaska because she disagreed with him on gun control. If anything, he is less committed to fighting Trump than he is bringing the Democratic Party strictly in line with his beliefs.

When people argue for starting political parties from nothing, this is what I think they’re not considering. Political parties - actual, legitimate parties, not cults now - are difficult to manage.

It’s from Ground News. It shows coverage in media across the left/right spectrum.
It allows for easier evaluation whether it is actual news and not something just pushed by one side.In this particular case I’d say it’s a reasonable distribution. There are more right wing outlets, and they prefer to push anything that resembles discord in the DNC. Otherwise they’d have to report on their own team and try to sell the actual news from there as a good thing.

If Hogg is going to be harping on about gun control in that role as he has in the past then he does need to go. It’s a losing issue and he will bring that baggage to sink the rest of the platform. Instead, make everything about protecting rights and freedoms.
I cant blame a school shooting survivor to be a little opinioned on gun issues.
That’s the problem with him in a leadership role, is that it’s like a banner he carries that defines him to the public. Basically a flag that says Democrats 4 Gun Bans to public perception. And this loses votes.
Meh, I dont follow the belief that gun regulations couldn’t be more popular.
If I were Hogg I would just focus on stronger communities means less gun violence.
