I love when they are in motion - the ducklings form a moving mass and follow after their mom like they are very little kids and she’s an RV-sized soccer ball.
It was so adorable; I think I’ve only ever seen a duck and their ducklings like that once before, and not in water. When they got a little too far behind the mass would speed up and slow down in unison it was so cool to watch
The other day I watched a vid of a mother duck and her chicks in an elementary school hallway. The kids were standing at the wall as the mom walked at a fast clip and her duckling mass followed close behind. They eventually got to a door and went outside. What surprised me most is how quiet the kids were. It’s like they where watching a tiny but very important parade.

I usually post here on hexbear to get away from hellworld stuff. Was at a party last night and the opinions of these libs were just godawful. Like, it is a bad idea to put the Ukraine war into context, we should just say “Putin bad” and never try to understand why this happened. Putin evil movie villain going to take over the world. And also people were freaking out about Trump. Not because of the actual horrible stuff he was doing, but because he makes America look weak and therefore evil China is going to come and conquer Australia because America won’t protect us. Shit is just so fucked. These people are all what pass for “leftists” in this godforsaken country as well. Every time I talk to other people about anything political it’s like a switch is flipped in their brains and they turn into thought-terminating-cliche spouting robots.
So that’s why I spend time here. I like being in a place where a statement like “China is the most evil warmonger in the world” is rightfully mocked and shown for the racist western chauvinism that it is.

The rioting in LA is shocking. I knew LA cops were racist but they are totally out of control.

Biking and video games. I kept reducing my activism to the point of not doing any for the past couple weeks.
I’m trying to figure that out for myself. Everything I do feels unfair in light of the suffering happening in the world around me.
Everyday I go to a little food pantry and leave some food. Stuff like fruit, tuna, soup, ramen, and the like. Hopefully I was able to buy it on sale so I leave more items. I could make yearly monetary donations but doing it myself with food from my own house and doing it every day makes a big difference.
The thumbnail is off Reddit but I’m about to have some in ~15 minutes. It’s a comfort food for me. Then I’m going to watch The Magnificent Seven (1960).
