I have a CR 6 Max and I took apart the extruder and now whenever I put it back there are always problems.

Firstly the spring is impossible to put back correctly so it never aligns perfectly.

When I managed to screw in the screws such that is was as good as I could make it, now the filament does not insert properly.

How do I proceed from here? Is there an easier way to put it back together? Is it possible to get another extruder that works differently but is compatible with the cr 6 max?

    You’re talking a Bowden extruder?

Micro swiss has a nice dual gear upgrade that can drop in.

    It’s very reliable.

Alternatively, if you drop pictures we might be able to help without going to that.

If you drop some pictures we can better diagnose the issues you’re having with your extruder. But, if you decide to get a different extruder, there are many aftermarket alternatives that may offer better performance/ reliability than the stock one. I recently got a knock off BMG extruder (I believe this is compatible with your setup) and it performs many times better than the one that came with my Neptune 3. Keep in mind that if you get a different extruder, you will likely have to change your extrusion rotation distance; look up how to do it depending on your firmware, it’s really easy once you know what to do.
