If you’re worried that your CEO will be murdered, that might be an indicator that you have some deep problems as a company. If you’re all worried, that may be an indicator that your entire industry is a problem.

Honestly… I’m not sure that it is. The entire concept of an “insurance company” (particularly health insurance) is inherently predatory.

For profit insurance companies are inherently predatory. But so are for profit hospitals and drug companies.

So yeah at this point, it might be impossible to run a non profit insurance company with the consolidation of hospital ownership by the few big hospitals and Catholic Church, and the vertical monopolies of the insurance, drug and pharmacies.

Remember, one of the provisions of the ACA was requiring insurance companies to ensure at least 90% of expenditure was directly towards covering care, meaning insurance companies are legally permitted an incredible up to 10% profit margin. For context most retailers have profit margins of 1-2%

Don’t forget that the ACA also stipulated they had to send overage checks out to members if they spent more on marketing, bonuses, etc than on services. Getting refund checks from Blue Cross/Blue Shield at the end of the year because they spent too much money on everything but healthcare wasn’t exactly reassuring.

Most other countries have figured out how to prevent people from wanting to murder health insurance CEOs…

Then again there seems to be a few things that other countries have figured out, but American exceptionalism won’t consider trying.

Yea dummy… that is the “reality” we want changed.
To you it’s immutable, to us it’s not.

The economy isn’t driven by the laws of the universe, it’s people, we can change it any time and have chosen not to. So now CEOs are dying.

          Wanna change it now? No?
Alright cool. Maybe this is the new normal then.

No, and I never said that. But thinking that you can run a big business and nobody would be “kill you” mad at you is very optimistic. People can be incredibly irrational, and the more customers you have the higher the odds of a crazy. And you only need one crazy to get lucky.

If I was a CEO of a big company, I’d want some security 24/7, even if I made Saint Gaben look horrible in comparison, because you never know when some certifiable in Bumfuckistan decides I’ve destroyed his peepee with mind rays or something, and decides the only logical thing is to kill me.

However, with this guy everyone wants him dead, and I really hope some of the chucklefucks running such companies start thinking if that really is the legacy they want to leave behind.

I watched a documentary on oil execs a while ago (can’t remember the name, sorry :( ). Someone asked an exec why he wasn’t giving 50 of the 60 billion dollars he owned to charity or government programs and he literally said “but how am I going to feed my family” without a shred of irony.

It’s because despite having oodles of money they never learned math. A family of 5 could eat 3 meals a day $100 per plate for 60 years for 32.85 million. They have just as little comprehension of their vast wealth as we do. Billionaires should not exist.

This is it. The red party abuses the economic hardship they themselves create (and profit off) and blame it on blue/immigrants/gays/browns. They have no incentive to solve economic problems because it’s what keeps them in power.

Edit: blue isn’t any better by the way, they just advertise themselves as the lesser evil. They actually need the greater evil or they’d be out of office in a heartbeat as well.

Good thing there isn’t some kind of machine that lets you go way back in time to see the pages before they were removed

Good thing someone who can plan their attack and track their target for days or weeks, someone with absolutely nothing to lose and a single-minded purpose, would absolutely give up on their plans if they can’t find a public picture of a company’s CEO on the first page they check.

Hiding your website link isn’t going to stop someone your lack of humanity has pushed to the point of actually shooting you.

And removing the tiniest bit of visible accountability you give doesn’t seem like a particularly good idea either.

If this is truly a pissed off customer I’d be curious to see their appeals and grievances trail.

No, but I imagine it might make them easier to catch. If they have to go digging to find a person’s name rather than just going to the company’s website.

Right, but I imagine if you limit the sources to find this info, you make it easier to track down people who may have searched for it prior to an incident like this.

Not if more people go looking for that info now just because it’s been taken away.

People on the internet are like cats, as soon as you close a door the cat wants to be on the other side. CEO’s try to hide and people want to know who they are more than ever.

Maybe they wouldn’t be so scared if they hadn’t lived such horrifically unethical lives.

Yeah, but there are some problems with LinkedIn: content can be edited, profiles can be hibernated or deleted, not to mention the need of being logged in with a LinkedIn account in order to visit a profile (something that will be snitched to the profile being visited, especially if such profile pays for LinkedIn Premium, they get to see everyone who visited them).

Deletion and edition are improbable (although not impossible) to happen on Wayback Machine and Archive Today (and anybody can visit the archive, no account is needed).
