The video is old which was randomly suggested to watch but just checking that it’s still a thing.
That content creator said many things about proton mail, idk whether they are falsified i.e. the reason I am posting.
- ProtonMail is subject to surveillance due to its location in Switzerland. As a member of the 14 Eyes surveillance alliance, Switzerland shares data with foreign intelligence.
- ProtonMail’s CEO has made statements and taken actions that have disappointed privacy advocates. The CEO is seen as prioritizing profits over privacy.
- ProtonMail logs user activity by default, scanning for criminal behavior. This level of logging is problematic for privacy.
- ProtonMail has shifted away from strong encryption. While it used to focus heavily on encryption, it has pivoted away from this, which concerns privacy experts.–
An easy way to debunk this nonsense would be to do a 2 second search for 14 eyes and confirm Switzerland isn’t a part of it.
yeah man you are right it’s a 2 second search for knowing who are in 14 eyes. I have posted only coz to check other allegations.
Well, since he’s not backing up anything with facts, I’d say the whole video is about his opinions on different email services. I’d say he’s allowed to have his opinions, but it’s rather careless to voice these opinions to the public, since he’s trying to make them come off as facts.
Instead of baiting on these (there are A LOT of them) articles and random videos on YouTube claiming this and that, go to reputable sources for privacy news/aritcles/reviews.
