          Murder is just illegal homicide; being justified doesn’t make it legal. This is one of the many many many misalignments of legality and morality.

          If his life was in danger, or he knew someone who was being denied claims that had died or their life was threatened, and he knew that the death of the CEO would lead to saving the lives of said victims, then its justifiable homicide.

          But if his medical bills were paid for (they were), and he had no immediate relations being denied life-saving treatments (which he didn’t), and he had no personal connection to United Healthcare (he was never insured by them), and he had no logical reason for believing that killing Brian Thompson would suddenly cause all insurance companies to massively improve rates of claim approval (he had no reason for believing this), then its not justifiable homicide: its just plain murder.

      Yes, please. The white washing here is ridiculous. There’s no way this CEO is responsible for only a single death.

      Propaganda of the Deed doesn’t work. However the spectacle has created some level of class consciousness. The organizing we are seeing seems to be around memes. Hopefully this momentum doesn’t end. People are still talking about Harambe and how Epstein didn’t kill himself. Dropping it is unlikely. Sorry it makes you uncomfortable.

    It’s only murder if you can’t afford to defend yourself in court … or if you can literally buy off the police … or the judge … or the entire court system … or the state … or even buy the entire country’s government

      I’m against the death penalty as a function of the legal system, but when the legal system is no longer effective other means become necessary.

    Switch the top and bottom panels. Leave the “dead patient” panel labeled as ‘murder’. Re-label the “dead CEO” panel as ‘self-defense’.
