One man commits a horrific crime. The other man shoots a CEO. The difference in response by our politicians is illuminating.

Just because the police are fucking pigs, doesn’t mean you automatically think a heinous act is okay.

The world isn’t a null sum game.

They don’t want to understand nuance, they want to feel righteous and get upvotes.

Inb4 the idiots come with the downvotes: yes ofc acab, but like how do nazi’s factor in again? The op actually has something to say, and the op comment doesn’t, imo.

This post is about what is missing from this perp walk so clearly it’s you who failed to recognize the nuance.

Aren’t you agreeing with somebody who basically said “the bad man is bad, therefore they police are good?”

Where is the nuance in this?

False dichotomy. It doesn’t have to be one or the other.

I swear, it should be mandatory to take formal/informal logic courses. The amount of fallacies I see in people’s arguments is astounding.

Okay but this is a post about a violent arsonist being arrested and the user chose to start cussing out the police.

You can see how that qualifies as endorsement for violent arson, right?

I’d hazard a guess the post titled “Where’s the mayor” is more likely about the mayor than about the arsonist.

Yes the mayor showed up when they transported Luigi Mangione in New York, but not when they transported an immolator.

The comment by EleventhHour calls the NYPD “shitty fascist people they always are” because they’re pictured here arresting a man who set a random woman on public transit on fire. I interpret that as EleventhHour does not like it when the NYPD arrest violent arsonists. Because the user said so, just now, at the top of this thread.

Yeah actually I can see your point now, I apologize for being brash. I interpreted it as the NYPD taking the opportunity to turn this into a PR stunt that disgusts the OC. But they never specified, so it is all technically an assumption on our part. I just find it more likely the oc is talking about behavior other than the physical act of arresting someone for immolating someone.
